Domestic Partner Health Insurance Question?
I have a question about having a domestic partner on my health insurance. I carried my domestic partner and his daughter on my plan, had to pay taxes on my benefits due to the domestic partner on it. When having a domestic partner on your health insurance in this country and having to pay taxes on it. Can I claim his daughter’s medical bills on my taxes that I paid? For example, out of pocket I paid large bills of my domestic partner’s medical bills. Can I claim them on my taxes as medical care bills or is that not allowed?

How can some companies get away with offering benefits to only same-sex domestic partners?
My girlfriend of 2 years, whom I live with, works for a bank where she purchases health insurance, and I am self insured. We figured we would be able to save money if I got on her health plan as a domestic partner. The bank says I don’t qualify for domestic partner benefits because we are not the same sex. Isn’t this discrimination? Why should same-sex couples have more rights than heterosexual couples?

If I were to work for Corporate Honda….would they offer the same spousal benefits (like health insurance and what not) to a Domestic Partner?
